King Abdullah, no more than a shiek of nomad people, but who controls most of the known oil reserves i todays’ world, whispered in Obama’s ears marching orders, orders to get Israel to stop settlement on the West Bank. The King, an illegal creation of the British, overlooked the fact that Israel does not respond to pressure fro its enemies, and clearly not from its allies; Israel MUST walk to its own drummer, and will continue to do so!
Obama’s mention in a number of speeches his desire for Israel st stop the settlement, was a mistake! His words may have appeased the Islamic world, and his new found relative, King Abdullah, but they will surely FORCE Israel to, if anything, expedite settlement efforts.
Until the Saudis, PLO, Hammas, and the Islamic world, in general, formally accept Israel sovereignty, and right to exist, Israel, with all due respect to Obama, and all, should not make any additional concessions to the Palestinians.
Any future step towards Middle East peace, must be preceded by full acceptance and recognition of Israel’s legitimacy!
